Rose Gubbiotti

Rose M. Gubbiotti, 80, of Wyoming Avenue, Exeter, passed away Monday October 2, 2006, at her home.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Serafino and Mary Boccolini Marconi. Rose was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter. She was a 1943 graduate of West Pittston High School and graduated from the Scranton Lackawanna Business College.

She and her late husband, Frank, established and operated the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home in Exeter for 42 years until his death in 1991and she continued working in the business with her family.

She was also a member of the Social and Travel Club, Exeter.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband, Frank, were her sister, Susan Marconi; and a brother, David Marconi.

Surviving are daughters Marilyn A. Gubbiotti, Exeter; Diane Dirhan, West Pittston; sons Frank Gubbiotti, Falls; Alex Gubbiotti, Exeter; grandchildren Ryan and Brett Jones; Dara Dirhan; Maria and Frank Gubbiotti; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday Oct, 5, 2006, at 9 a.m. from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, with the Rev. Joseph Sibliano, officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter; Ambulance and Exeter Hose Co.; or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Luzerne County Funeral Directors Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
