HANOVER TWP.: The Confraternity of Christian Mothers of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church at 1 p.m. in the church hall, 530 Main Road, Buttonwood. Marie Sabat and Helen Swiatek will serve as hostesses. The annual Christmas party will take place at the Centre Inn on Dec. 3.
PITTSTON TWP.: The Italian American Association of Luzerne County at 5:30 p.m. at Convention Hall. A family-style dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. Music for dancing will be by Gary from 7:15 to 10:15 p.m. The cost is $20 per person. DUPONT: Greater Pittston Area Chapter 1723, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, NARFE, at 1 p.m. in the VFW Post in Dupont. The nomination and election of officers will take place, however, the installation will be done during the December luncheon.

DUPONT: A membership meeting for the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 46, will take place at 1 p.m. at the VFW 4909. A report will be made for the state convention and there will be a discussion on future activities.
GLEN LYON: Newport Township Community Organization at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus building (formerly St. Dennis Church) on East Main Street. The group will discuss its various projects: promoting the elimination of abandoned buildings, cleaning up neglected properties, the improvement of recreation parks and making local government more effective. All township residents are welcome.
