James E. Denman, 82, of Kingston, passed away at his home on Saturday morning following a lengthy illness.
Born on June 17, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late George and Genevieve Burgess Denman. He was a resident of Kingston for most of his life. He graduated from Coughlin High School. Prior to retiring, he was self-employed as a landscaper. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Andrew Lawrence Post 644, American Legion, Swoyersville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary E. Metro, in 1981; son James F., in 2005; sister Pauline Kerpovich; brothers Walter and Franklin Denman, and Elmer Burgess.
Surviving are daughter Ann Hudock and her husband, Andrew, Kingston; son Larry, Kingston; two grandchildren; sister Dorothy Williams, Edwardsville; brother William, Bloomingdale, N.J.; and nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to VISION or Hospice Community Care.
