Carl Dymond

Carl M. Dymond Sr., 72, of Shavertown, died Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center, Plains Township, following a long battle with cancer.

Born in Dallas on May 21, 1934, he was a son of the late Elmer and Eltha (Evans) Dymond.

He was a graduate of Dallas High School, class of 1952. Mr. Dymond had been employed by Air Products for 40 years.

He was an avid golfer with two career “holes in one.” One of the “holes in one” was during a round in which he scored a 70, his age on that day.

He was a member of the George M. Dallas Lodge, Dallas; the Irem Temple; and Irem Temple Golf Association.

He was preceded in death by his brother Richard.

Surviving are his wife, Ramona Dymond; sons Carl Dymond Jr. and his wife, Nancy, Dallas; Edward Dymond and his wife, Coleen, Jamestown, N.Y.; John Dymond, Shavertown; grandchildren Edward Jr., Neil, Tara, Courtney and Elizabeth; sisters Doris Pyatt, Silver Springs, Md.; Eula Lewis, Dallas; Nancy Bartabaugh, Walkersville, Md.; and Betty Lou Gansel, Point of Rocks, Md.; brothers Harold, Swiftwater; Albert, Tunkhannock; Robert, Shavertown.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, with the Rev. James Paisley officiating.

Friends may call today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.
