HUNLOCK TWP. – The township municipal building was ransacked in the early-morning hours Friday, state police reported.
The front door was smashed, several cabinets and drawers were rifled through and a small hand-held voice recorder was missing.

PLAINS TWP. – State police reported three citations at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Friday.
Around 5 a.m., Michael R. Brown, 20, of Harveys Lake, and Alan Peterson, 20, of Plains Township, were cited with underage drinking when casino security identified them as being not of a legal age to be in the casino and notified police that the two had been drinking.
Around 8:40 p.m., Ann Patricia Politz, 43, of Plymouth, was cited with criminal trespass and public drunkenness when state police were called to assist casino security in removing Politz from a patrol vehicle.
State police reported Politz refused to leave the vehicle and appeared to be highly intoxicated.
UNION TWP. – Two chain saws were stolen from Benscoter’s Hardware sometime early on Friday morning, state police reported.
The store’s front door had been smashed and two chainsaws, an 18-inch Husqvarna and one made by Red Max, were missing. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Shickshinny at 542-4117.
UNION TWP. – Iren Davenport, of Shickshinny, reported around 5:45 a.m. Friday that the rear driver’s side window of her 2000 Toyota sedan was smashed while the car was parked at the Northwest Area High School student parking lot.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Shickshinny at 542-4117.WILKES-BARRE – A Hughestown man was struck Sunday by a vehicle driven by a man later arrested on evidence of drunken driving, police said.
According to police:
Frank Zielinski, age not given, was struck at 3:45 p.m. while walking in the 100 block of West River Street. The driver of the vehicle, William Jayma, 42, Wilkes-Barre, fled the scene. Police say he faces a charge of driving under the influence and other charges related to the crash.
WYOMING – A man was nabbed by a Price Chopper store security officer Sunday for trying to steal steaks from the store, police said.
According to police, Brian Doris, 23, Luzerne, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. after he concealed $18 worth of steaks in his clothing.
Doris faces a charge of retail theft, police said.
