BEAR CREEK/BUCK TWPS.: The Bear Creek, Buck Township Lions Club will host a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Bear Creek Township Community building.

Gifts and goodies will be distributed to the children. Cameras are permitted.

MOUNTAIN TOP: The Marian Sutherland Kirby Library, 35 Kirby Ave., plan a program to celebrate Christmas from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 8. There will be a sing-along with Debbie Knorr at 1 p.m., stories and activities. Santa Claus will arrive at 1:30 p.m. and children will receive a gift and a sweet treat. Cameras are permitted.

All ages are welcome. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

PLAINS TWP.: The Rotary Club of Plains is holding its annual Christmas party for children in Plains Township who are physically- or mentally-challenged at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12 at Andy’s Family Diner, River Street in Plains.

The Wyoming Valley Children’s Association has mailed invitations to its clients who live in Plains Township. Any eligible child who has not received an invitation can call Rotarian Gene Bartoli at 822-1684 for further information and reservations. Parents are asked to accompany their children.

Dr. James Susek, Rotary president, has appointed Rotarians Gene Bartoli, Tom Malloy, Joseph Gelli, Ben Berrini, and district attorney David Lupas in charge of the arrangements.
