After the sudden bloom of spring last week, the campus is finally feeling alive. Students are out on the Founder’s Green, having barbecues in the Hill section and dusting off their summer clothes.
With the great weather, the end-of-the-year festivities have arrived. The University of Scranton Jazz Ensemble will be playing on Friday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Houlihan McLean center. For more information, please call 570.941.724.
Furthermore, the university’s Players will be performing in “Lucky Stiff,” a play by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. The performances will take place Friday April 24 and Saturday, April 25 at 8 p.m. at the McDade Center for Performing Arts.
The Weinberg Memorial Library will host the Book and Plant Sale. This will take place for students of the university on Friday, April 25 from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. However, the general public can attend the sale on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday April 27 from noon until 4 p.m.
Come support local acts at the Battle of the Bands which will take place May 3. It was recently announced that the band Amber Pacific will be headlining the show. Local bands Leeched, Chee, Livingston, Spread Thin and In a Day will be competing for the grand prize. The show begins at 2 p.m. on the Founder’s Green and will run simultaneous to the Spring Fling.
