Francis “Red” Goman, 85, of Sweet Valley, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Hospice Care of the VNA, Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. Goman was born in Wilkes-Barre, January 29, 1923, and was a son of the late Joseph and Appolonia Pavel Goman.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to retirement, Francis was employed as a skilled brick layer by various construction companies in the area.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth.
Mr. Goman had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew him, young and old alike.
Francis was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Helen Bagienski, and a sister, Irene Nowakowski, Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with the Rev. Joseph Pisaneschi officiating.
Interment will be in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Lake Silkworth.
Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral Saturday.
