Ann Marie Morio

Ann Marie Morio, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, was called home to our Lord peacefully Saturday in Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Our family was truly blessed to have such a beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with such strength, character and love. Her love of family was second to none. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and spent countless hours knitting and crocheting.

She was born July 16, 1926, a daughter of Angelo and Ida Mary Sabatina Perillo, of Wilkes-Barre. She was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by RCA, Mountain Top, as a supervisor. She was a life member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Morio Sr., on December 13, 2007; a son, Richard J. Morio Jr., in 1993; brothers Thomas Perillo, Edward Perillo, John Perillo and Harry (Danny) Perillo.

Surviving are daughters Shirley Morio Vitanovec and her husband, George, Wilkes-Barre; Linda Morio Kochuba and her husband, Joseph, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Kerry Vitanovec Flaherty and her husband, Kevin, Plains Township; George Vitanovec Jr. and his wife, Susan, Shavertown; Ann Marie Kochuba Mantione and her husband, Salvatore, Wilkes-Barre; Kimberly Kochuba Markunas and her husband, Matthew, Northumberland; Joseph K. Kochuba and his wife, Theresa, Langhorne; Mark Kochuba and his fiancée, Jennifer Balent, of Wilkes-Barre; Shawna Morio Miggins and her husband, Jeffrey, Easton; great-grandchildren John C. Kochuba Blaski, Wilkes-Barre; Alexandra M. Markunas, Northumberland; Gabrielle L. Markunas, Northumberland; Ava Nicole K. Markunas, Northumberland; Dylan J. Miggins, Easton; Allison M. Vitanovec, Shavertown; Lacey N. Kochuba, Langhorne; Megan A. Kochuba, Langhorne; Michael Flaherty, Plains Township; Patrick Flaherty, Plains Township; brothers Joseph Perillo and his wife, Phyllis, Wilkes-Barre; and Louis Perillo and his wife, Betty, Wilkes-Barre; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Friends may call at Mamary-Durkin Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
