Stanley S. Stempien, 64, of Exeter, passed away Saturday morning at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was born in Nanticoke on August 19, 1943, a son of the late Stanley and Eleanor Stempien. He was a Nanticoke High School graduate. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston.
Stanley, fondly known as “Stan the Pool Man,” was the owner of X-Pert Pool Service, Exeter, for 30 plus years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoying his favorite fishing spot, Cayuga Lake, N.Y. He had a great pet companion, his dog, “Shadow.” The love of his life was his granddaughter, Saige Stempien.
Surviving are his wife, the former Tina Moreck, Exeter; two sons, Stanley Stempien and his wife, Lisa, Exeter; Kevin Stempien and his fiancée, Susan Stankevich, Scranton; one sister, Elaine Iaquinta, Naples, Fla.; one granddaughter, Saige Stempien.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Williams Street, Pittston. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
