Mrs. Margaret C. (Peg) Loughlin, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 25, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Frank and Mae Jelley Rowe. She graduated from Meyers High School, class of 1942.
She was employed by the offices at Lazarus Department Store, Columbia Lace Mills, Wyoming Valley West High School cafeteria and retired from the staff of Meals on Wheels of Wyoming Valley.
Peg was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston, a former member of the Senior Choir, served as a Sunday school teacher, was a member of the Women’s Fellowship and a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 158.
She and her husband, Lewis Jr., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 12.
She enjoyed many years of camping and boating with her family. She and husband Lewis also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
Preceding her in death are her brothers, Richard and Kenneth Rowe.
Surviving are her husband, Lewis Loughlin Jr., sons Lewis III (Skip) and his wife, Linda, Cape May, N.J.; William and his wife, Mary, Plymouth; grandchildren Michael, Plymouth; Matthew, Cape May, N.J.; Sarah Mae, Wilkes-Barre; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Dr. Carol Ann Fleming and the Rev. Dr. James L. Harring officiating. The interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
