Straight-Up Drug Awareness visits Red Rock Job Corps

Members of the Straight-Up Drug Awareness Program were the guests of the Red Rock Job Corps (RRJC) in Lopez. Straight-Up brings a powerful message of drug use and drug abuse. An inmate from the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (LCCF) in Wilkes-Barre told her story on how drugs ruined her life and led to a life of incarceration to the Job Corps students. The Straight-Up program was founded in 1996 and has made 163 presentations to more than 44,000 individuals, 90% of which were in the student population. LCCF warden Joseph Piazza and staff are co-sponsors of the program. First row, from left: Lt James Pugh, LCCF; Jeannette Good, inmate LCCF; Tom Dougher, programs director, RRJC.
