Sapphire Salon open house to benefit children’s hospital

The Sapphire Salon will sponsor its annual VIP Holiday Open House at 5-8 p.m. on Dec. 6 at 247-249 S. Main St., Pittston. The Las Vegas-themed event will offer a beauty and fashion show by staff members, a buffet, mock wedding chapel, Elvis impersonator, Vegas style games, and much more. Admission is free and holiday gifts will be sold to benefit The Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Danville. Reservations are required by calling the salon at 602-7700. This fundraiser is among many performed by Sapphire staff. Recent efforts have raised funds for the Susan B. Komen Foundation and breast cancer research through the Lee Jeans National Denim Day. A Halloween party for children benefited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and a Chinese auction helped defray medical expenses for Justin Burns, 6, a local child who is battling leukemia and a heart defect that requires surgery. Burns is shown with Angie Morgan, co-owner of The Sapphire Salon.
