WILKES-BARRE – Harmonious sounds of the GAR High School Choir ushered the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board members into their reorganization meeting on Tuesday night.
In a 15 minute meeting the school board reappointed a new president, vice president and members to other positions.
With a unanimous vote, the school board appointed former vice president Jim Height to a one-year term as president. Frank Pizzella was approved for a one-year term as the board vice president, despite one abstention from board member Lynn Evans and Maryanne Toole’s no vote.
Nominated for a three-year term to serve on the Vocational Technical School board was Joe Moran.
The 2009 school board meeting schedule will remain the same.
The board will meet the second Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. in the administration building on South Main Street.
