Morgan, Jamison shine as Abington Heights handles Wyoming Area

CLARKS SUMMIT—Abington Heights raised its record to 8-1 on Friday with a 3-0 victory over Wyoming Area in Wyoming Conference girls volleyball action. The scores were 25-12, 25-12, 25-20.

Shelby Morgan led the Comets with eight kills, six aces and 10 service points, while Liz Jamison had three wills, seven assists and 18 service points.

Megan Fraley added two kills, 15 assists and eight service points, and Joetta Hashen notched five kills and five digs.

Casey Bohan paced the Warriors with 11 kills and six blocks. Biz Eaton added 11 assists and 10 service points, while Kelly Klaproth had three kills.

Tunkhannock 3, Meyers 0

Loren Appolonia had three kills and seven service points as the Tigers beat the Mohawks by scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-5.

Anna Boecker posted three kills, while Gabrielle Alguire had nine service points and six assists.

Maddie Lavery led Meyers with four kills and four blocks. Carmen Perez notched two kills and three assists, while Kaitlyn Krebs had five digs.

North Pocono 3, Pittston Area 0

Sarah Downer posted eight kills to lead North Pocono to victory over Pittston Area by scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-21. Katie Jacobs had one kill, eight assists, four aces and five service points, while Alyssa Hamill added 10 service points and four assists.

Beth Yuschovitz led the Patriots with four kills, eight service points and seven digs. Amanda Gretz had six kills and five digs, while Emily Ginnochitti had seven service points.

Holy Redeemer 3, Nanticoke 0

Monica Wignot notched 14 kills, one block and 11 service points to lead the Royals past the Trojans by scores of 25-10, 25-10, 25-7. Kristen Bell added five blocks and nine service points.

Maura McCormick had 16 assists, 12 service points, two kills and one block, while Mary Loughran had 16 assists and two service points.

Nicole Novakoski paced Nanticoke with three assists and one ace. Kayley Schinski had one kill and one block, while Clarice Tarnoski added two digs.

Dallas 3, Coughlin 2

Monica Esopi had nine kills, two blocks, two assists and four service points to lead the Mountaineers to a victory over the Crusaders by scores of 21-25, 17-25, 25-9, 25-20, 19-17.

Mary Kate Osick notched seven kills, three blocks and two service points, while Meghan Murtagh posted four kills, 25 assists, four aces and five service points.

Sarah Martin led Coughlin with nine kills, four blocks, six digs and five aces. Maria Cantoran added five kills, three blocks, three assists and six service points, while Danielle Georgetti had three kills, 12 assists, 11 digs, two assists and six service points.
