Checkerboard Inn Golf League will hold its final meeting prior to the start of the season at 7 p.m. March 21 at the Checkerboard Inn in Trucksville. Wyoming Valley Babe Ruth League will hold signups for their second season from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Doughnut Hole on Sans Souci Highway, Hanover Township. Players and teams ages 13 through 15 and 16 through 18 from throughout Wyoming Valley are welcome. Registrations will be accepted until the end of March. The season runs from late May to October. Cost is $85 per player and $150 per family. Individual teams will pay only registration and insurance fees under the Babe Ruth Charter and provide for their own expenses. Registration costs are $45 per player (ages 4 through 12) or $75 per family of two or more and $65 per player (ages 13 through 16). All new players are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate for age verification purposes.

Jenkins Township Little League will hold one additional registraton from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday from at the Jenkins Township Municipal Building. This will be the last chance to sign up for Little League. There are still some openings left on all teams. Plymouth Shawnee Indians Football and Cheerleading Organization will hold registrations from noon to 2 p.m. on March 19 at the Plymouth Borough Building. Children must be at least 5 years old, and no older than 14 years old as of Aug. 1, 2011. Registration fees are $20 for the first child, $15 for the second child and $10 for each additional child. This is a reduced fee and will go up after this registration.
