St. Mary’s Assumption holds mother/son bowling event

Thank you to all of our mothers and their sons for supporting our Mother/Son Bowling event last Sunday. It was a huge success. The winners are as follows: 1st Place - Mark Liskowicz (eighth grade) and his mom Susan, 2nd Place - Ryan (fourth grade) and Justin (sixth grade) Bella and their mom Shari, and receiving the award for Most Effort was Neil Forlenza (second grade) and his mom Hillary.

A very special thank you to Mrs. Melissa Skutack and her sons, Michael and Andrew, for making her famous sugar cookies for all the bowlers. A great time was had by all who attended.

Mass

Our next school Mass will be on Thursday, June 2nd at 10:30 am. This will be our annual “Buddy Mass” first grade and eighth grade are preparing the celebration. Msgr. Bendik will be our celebrant. All parents and families are invited to join us.

No School

We will not have school on Monday, May 30 this is in observance of Memorial Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 31.

Closing Mass and Reception

The invitation for the SMA Closing Mass and Reception went home last week. If you have not sent in your RSVP please do so immediately. The Mass will begin at 5:30 pm with the reception to follow immediately after. The Mass and reception are open to all current and past St. Mary’s families and friends so please spread the word. There will be a display table at the reception with SMA memorabilia if you have any items that you would like to share please label all items with your name and drop them off at the school prior to June 2.

Pre-school

The last day for the three year old children will be Tuesday, May 31. The four year old children are not to attend on May 31. The four year old children will have their Moving Up Day on Wednesday, June 1.

Save the Date

Thursday, June 2: 5:30 pm Mass and Reception for all current and past families and alumni.

Sunday, June 12: SMA Family Fun Day, 1:00 to 4:00 Pittston Twp. Recreational Park. RSVP by June 1.

Wednesday, June 15: Knoebels Day, Last day of school.Children may wear SMA T-shirt with long shorts or capri’s (for girls) no short shorts for Mass. Sneakers or sandals are both fine. Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Holy Rosary Vouchers

In addition to what is already on the Holy Rosary voucher form they have informed us that they have added the following stores: Crazy 8 - $25, Sapphire - $25, Talbots - $25, and Ruth Chris - $50. If you would like to purchase any of these voucher just write it on the existing form.
